If coming to our area via I-81, exit the interstate at Pennsylvania exit 5, at
Greencastle. Then head west on PA 16 toward Mercersburg. After 10 miles
you will enter Mercersburg. Route 16 becomes Main Street. The Steiger
House is just past the center of town on your right at 33 N. Main Street. It is
best to park on the street in front of the house.
If coming here via I-70, at Hagerstown Maryland exit on to I-81 north. Then
follow the directions above. It is about 12 miles from I-70 to exit 5 at
Greencastle, PA.

If you are arriving using the Pennsylvania Turnpike, it depends on which direction you are headed.
If you are coming from the Pittsburgh area, take the Pennsylvania Turnpike, I-276 east. Exit the turnpike at exit
180. Follow US 522 south 8 miles to McConnellsburg, PA. Turn left on PA 16 east and follow that for 10 miles.
The Steiger House is about 1/2 block past the second traffic light and is on the left side of the street at 33 N. Main
Street.
If you are coming from the Philadelphia area, then you will be driving west on I-276. Exit the turnpike at exit 189,
the Willow Hill exit. At the end of the exit road, turn right on PA 75 south. It is aproximately 20 miles to
Mercersburg. At the first traffic light, turn left on to PA 16. The Steiger House will be located about 1/2 block past
the next traffic light on the left side of the street at 33 N. Main Street.
